- No "hot air" and "padding" are supplied. No "pre-learning"
CD-ROMs, as we feel if this is what was desired, the customer would
have bought a CD-ROM course and would not be interested in instructor
led training in the first place! No eNotes, fancy coloured notes,
nor telecom dictionaries supplied. Instead an instructor who knows
the subject inside out is supplied and one who will hand out additional
material as he sees fit for that particular class.
- Our key is not to have a training farm approach. The formula used
by "train all company" results in trainers and material being "average".
The formula spins around "margins" - not passion for the subjects.
The formula is first to find out market demands. Then find someone
as cheap as possible who can approximately hit the target in terms
of developing the material. A balance has to be struck between cheapness
and satisfying the customer. Since the customer is unlikely to have
a benchmark, as otherwise they would not require the training, the
balance is swung towards cheapness, and therefore "average at
best" syndrome. Then a trainer is sought, again following the
margin model, as cheaply as possible. Customers have been realising
some of the short changing that has taking place, hence "train all
companies" have been investing in new pitches "rigorous accreditation
process", "only certified trainers" Etc. It is in the interest of
"train all company" to certify the trainer quickly, and it is not
in their interest to be rigorous - especially when there is an upsurge
in course registrations.
- Trainers are consultants when not training unlike "train all company" where
even if a person has had relevant experience, they have been shielded
from the "real world" due to being in a 9-5 training role for years.
- Courses are continuously updated since the trainers live and breathe their
subjects. As trainers learn of new developments, or spot mistakes,
or see a shift in market interest the courses are modified accordingly.
Therefore unlike "train all company" there is not a finite budget
set for course development, or updates (if they have a budget for
updates that is).
- We specialise in signalling. Speciality naturally results in unparallelled
expertise - "jack of all trades, master of none"
- We specify and publish who will be taking the course. We do not have
a factory farm processing unit that sends out the most cost effective
trainer for the course. We believe it is critical that a customer
should be able to choose the trainer just as much as they choose the
course.
- The trainers themselves are specialists. Unlike "train all company"
our trainers train a single signalling subject. Whereas "train all
company" typically uses its trainers for multi-subjects - IP one
week, SS7 the next, maybe ATM the week after, and so on. Frequently
the trainers for "train all company" learn the subject from
the folder that they will later be providing to the class!
